The Timing Hub is the brain of the SplitFast system. It collects timing data from all connected LiDAR gates and syncs results to the SplitFast app in real time via radio. Required for operating any SplitFast gate configuration.

Motion Sensor

The optional SplitFast Motion Sensor measures athlete reaction time from the starting gun to first movement. It attaches to the athlete's wrist or starting blocks and works alongside the LiDAR gate system to give coaches a complete picture of every run — from gun to finish.

What the Motion Sensor does

  • Reaction time measurement — Measures the time from the starting gun to the athlete's first movement — the true reaction time, not the time to the first gate.
  • False start detection — Detects movement before the gun fires and flags false starts automatically in the SplitFast Timing App.
  • Motion Start mode — Can initiate a trial from the athlete's own movement rather than a starting gun — useful for flying start and agility drills where no gun is used.
  • Works for all athletes simultaneously — When multiple athletes are equipped with Motion Sensors, reaction time is captured for all of them in the same run — no additional setup required.
  • Complete run picture — Reaction time, split times, and finish time are displayed together in the app as a single result — giving coaches the full story of every run.
  • Attaches to wrist or blocks — Flexible attachment options allow the sensor to be worn on the wrist or fixed to starting blocks depending on the training setup.
